The Ambulance (2000) is a fantasy ambulance, featuring opening rear doors. A patient (loaded backwards) is visible in the rear compartment, making this the first (and so far only) ambulance casting featuring a molded-in-place patient. The casting reflects the short-lived early 21st century shift away from realism that marked many of the then-introduced Matchbox models. When the company direction changed again, this casting was retired in favor of the more realistic Ambulance (2005).
