1995 Initial release
Very nicely detailed, featuring main injection molded parts, choice of two cast metal engines, a great many photoetched parts, film instruments, colorful decals for three different aircraft and a color painting guide. Decals are for RFC serial 3523, flown by R.A.J. Warneford, VC, in action on 7 June 1915, against zeppelin LZ37. Warneford destroyed LZ37 by dropping a 20 lb. bomb which ignited the airship's gas cells. Some authorities report one crew member survived by jumping clear of the wreck. "Le Pilou-Pilou," referenced in the French decal option, refers to a Paris music hall adaptation of a native Melanesian war dance, reportedly quite popular in Paris of the early war years.
