The Leopard 2 is a main battle tank developed by Krauss-Maffei AG, now Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW), of Munchen, Germany. It is widely recognized as one of the most advanced MBTs in the world. While the A5 comprises the backbone of Germany's tank forces, it is also used in The Netherlands and Sweden.
