Nestled in the heart of downtown Tecumseh, J-Bar Hobbies has been attracting model enthusiasts for 43 years. When you walk in the doors, you will be stepping into 6300 sq. ft. of pure nostalgia! Set up like the “old school” hobby shops with thousands of products lining the shelves, we have something for everyone here. 

           

 

We carry a large variety of plastic and resin model kits. All of our kits are new. We carry thousands of diecast models as well, aircraft, cars, armor, and ships. Please note, we do not buy collections! We deal only with our suppliers to ensure all kits we sell are new and complete.

 

    

We also carry all the modeling supplies you could ever want. We carry three major paint brands including: Tamiya (potted paint & spray), Testors (potted paint & spray), and Humbrol (potted paint). We have a large selection of model-grade paint brushes as well as hobby knives and other tools needed for model building! We carry several options for glue, including both the Testors gel glue and the Testors liquid glue. We also carry an extensive selection of super glues, perfect for any of your hobby needs!

 

   

We have a large selection for model train enthusiasts as well. We carry the following gauges: N, HO, and O. We regularly stock Lionel and Bachman, as well as some vintage brands (all new, unused products)! We have train sets, extra track, layout accessories, and figurines for each gauge. We also carry a large quantity of Woodland Scenics greenery and accessories for making your layout ultra-realistic. 

 

 

Aside from model building and model trains, we carry many other hobbies. One of our top sellers being puzzles. With over 1000 puzzles in stock at any given time, we are the only brick & mortar store in Lenawee County (MI) with this large of a selection. Most of our puzzles are White Mountain, but we also carry a limited selection of Springbok puzzles. We carry 300-2000 piece puzzles and also keep puzzle glue, puzzle boards, puzzle rolls, and puzzle sorters in stock. We have a puzzle for every skill level (ages 10+) and every interest here!

 

If you’re looking for something to do indoors that isn’t a puzzle, we have just the thing. Board games! We carry the household classics, like Game of Life, Monopoly, Scrabble, and Yahtzee as well as lesser-known games. We also carry a decent selection of card games, including a line aimed for younger audiences! Like memory games, crazy eight’s, slap jack, and go fish! 

 

 

We also carry many old-fashioned kids' toys (no batteries required). Wind-up robots, balloon powered cars & boats, balsa and foam gliders, puppets, and handheld pinball games - just to name a few.
