About the kit: This is the 1982 issue of MPC Kit #1-4303, the P-61 Black Widow in 1/72 scale. This kit is recommended for the modeler of moderate experience. The kit is molded in color (black) and cement is required for assembly. The finished model has a wingspan of 11 inches and a length of 8 1/8 inches. Included in this kit are the parts for a P-61A or P-61B, three crew figures, a moveable turret and control surfaces. The kit also comes with optional underwing bombs or tanks. The P-61 in this kit is the "Jukin Judy" of the 442nd Night Fighter Squadron as it flew during the D-Day Invasion of France.

About the plane: The only US aircraft designed specifically for night fighter duties, the P-61 Black Widow. The P-61 Black Widow was a large aircraft for a fighter. Its effective radar, and surprising agility enabled it to score many victories against all types of enemy aircraft. Its four cannons and four machine gun turrets gave it immense fire power. It was also used to deliver up to 6,400lbs. of bombs.
