It was made by an old firm that constructed steam vehicles and that in 1900 moved to Bridgeport Connecticut with the ambitious plan of putting on the American market cars which were near enough to the luxurious Mercedes of that age. After an unlucky attendance at the 6th edition of the Bennet Cup, the new "Old 16" had a surprising victory at the Vanderbilt Cup in 1908.
