KNARR 1/35 scale 11th century Viking ocean going cargo ship

The Knarr was a type of Viking ship which served the purpose of long-distance naval trade. The Knarrs were very robust and very resilient in unfavorable conditions on the open sea. This model represents a Knarr which was found near the village of Skuldelev at Denmark and which is known as the Skuldelev 1. The original was built in Norway between 1030 and 1050 mainly from Oak and Pine. The length of the ship was about 54 feet (16.3 meters), with a displacement of about 24 tons.
