
1964 hard box issue from the original "S" kit molds. This large scale (1/108) kit features very good detail for that time and all features shown in the box art - even the crew members. The Long Beach was built in Decatur, Alabama in 1943 and was one of a fleet of tugs operated by the Wilmington Transportation Company. She had a registered length of 81.1 feet and a beam of 24 feet. Gross tonnage was 146 inches, and she drew 8 feet of water. Powered by a 700 hp diesel, the range was just over 3,500 miles.
